ITC Grand Goa Resort & Spa unveiled the spirit of the festive season through one of most traditional ceremonies of ‘Cake Mixing’. The soiree was hosted by the resort’s General Manager, Bhagwan Balani.
Spreading the cheer along with the chefs, the ceremony invited the participation of all local media and in-house guests dressed in chef hats and aprons amidst this annual tradition. The occasion was held at the lawns near The Royal Afghan. Leading the event was Chef Sunil Gadihoke – Executive Chef and pastry Chef Parvender Rawat– Pastry Chef who shared tips with guests for the perfectly balanced cake. Guests and colleagues rolled up their sleeves and put their hands together to mix the ingredients for the cake.
An array of fruits and spices were mixed such as almond flakes, black currant, red and black resins, figs, apricots along with prunes and walnuts. Keeping in focus, locally sourced ingredients cashew, cardamom and nutmeg will be the prominent ingredients to this delicious Christmas cake. The ceremony began with a welcome speech by the General Manager. The mixing also included a continuous flow of high-spirited beverages.
“ITC Hotels is rooted to the ethos of the land and creates indigenous experiences. Through this ceremony we hope to cherish many memories with each of you here this evening. I am delighted to welcome you to experience the ‘Cake Mixing’ ceremony while we raise a toast and witness the sunset at the pristine Arossim Beach”, said Bhagwan Balani.
