Indoor celebrations of festivals allowed in Goa

The holiday festive weekend of Goa is likely to entice a lot of tourists to come to the state. The government announced that any outdoor public celebrations of Shab-e-Barat, Easter, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Holi won’t be permitted. However these festivals can be celebrated indoors in hotels, pubs, and clubs. The high demand of tickets led to a rise in fares.

The government hasn’t issued any SOP’s for these venues who are preparing to take in guests. In many of these places no one wears masks and they dance close to other people. Those going should take care as “Covid-19 spreads more easily indoors than outdoors,” says the US-based Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). “Studies show that people are more likely to be exposed to Covid-19 when they are closer than 6-ft apart from others for longer periods of time.”

Celebrations for Holi festival will begin on Sunday in many parts in Goa.
