Goa with myriad rivers, bays, lakes, backwaters, and of course, the Arabian Sea is replete with fishes, crabs, prawns, lobsters, sharks, stingrays, squids and the list goes on. If you still haven’t sampled any of the fresh seafood delights that Goa has on its plate, you must (unless you’re a vegetarian). For your reference, I have put together some of the most anticipated seafood restaurants in Goa.
- Ritz Classsic
Located in Panjim city and Patto Plaza, Ritz Classic is known to be packed during lunch hours for their lip smacking fish thali. Apart from the same old fish thali, Ritz Classic also offers an array of fishes, prawns, crabs, and squids in several different preparations. You must try their Pomfret butter garlic fry.
- Fat Fish
Located in Agar Vaddo, Calangute on the Arpora road, Fat Fish is most likely to be packed during season time. With a delightful continental, North Indian, and Goan menu; Fat Fish serves numerous Goan seafood delights. My personal favorite is their peri peri prawns and crab xac xac.
Located in Betalbatim bang opposite Alila Diwa, Fishka serves a mix of Goan, North Indian, Chinese and Italian delights. If you’re done having Goan seafood delights, here you can sample some mussels, shark fin soup, and seafood thermidor.
- Vasco Square
Located in the heart of Vasco, Vasco Square specializes in traditional Goan food. Quite like at home, they serve massive portions of every offering in their menu. Their lunch fish thali is the highlight of the place which includes a generous quantity of rice, succulent fish/prawn curry, bhaji of the day, a fresh rawa fried fish, tisryo, upto two other varieties of seafood, salad, and pickle.
- Fisherman’s Cove
Located in Candolim (two locations during season time), Fisherman’s Cove is the busiest restaurant in the belt regardless of the season being high or low. Open throughout the year, Fisherman’s Cove has what it takes to satiate all your seafood cravings. Do ask the waiter to show you the fishes of the day and they’ll cook your choice of fish exactly the way you want it.
