If you were to mark the events that take place in Goa over a full calendar year, you’ll find that it’s almost full. Being the event capital of the country, Goa sees its fair share of high profile events all year round but the 5 events that have put Goa on the map of international stardom are:

1. Sunburn
   What started out as a music festival on the sands of Candolim beach has now evolved into a phenomenon that has gripped music lovers from India and abroad. The Sunburn music festival is not only the biggest most awesome music festival to hit Goa’s stellar sands, but it is also one of the most anticipated events of the year. International DJs, spectacular stages, fabulous acts, and a vibe that will blow you away – Sunburn in Goa is beyond amazing.
2. Grape Escapade
   Wine enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and tourists converge on this lifestyle festival each year to savour the flavours of fine wine. Grape Escapade began as a small wine festival in the Inox courtyard; now it is a sprawling event at Campal grounds that offers the most extensive choice of wines in the country and the best in food and entertainment in Goa.
3. IFFI
   The International Film Festival of India came to Goa many years ago and has recently adopted Goa as its permanent host. As the bevy of stars Indian and international land on Goa’s sun kissed shores to attend this glamorous film festival, cinephiles can be seen queuing up for their passes to the best of cinema.
4. Lokotsav
   Lokotsav at Kala Academy brings all of India to Goa. A stunning festival of dance, culture and music, Lokotsav showcases traditional dance forms, skits, and a host of stalls with goodies from all the different states of India. A Treat for tourists wanting to experience it all in one go, this 10 day festival is an enriching event.
5. Carnival
   The Carnival in Goa is a fun filled parade with delightful floats, dances and King Momo holding fort at the helm. An absolute treat for families, the carnival (similar to the one held in Rio), is an event when the whole of Goa converges on to the streets for a party that’s all about good clean fun.
