Dr. Subodh Kerkar to deliver a talk at UCL

19th April, 2017: Dr. Subodh Kerkar is invited by the University College London to deliver a talk at the conference ‘MAHATMA GANDHI IN THE 21ST CENTURY: GANDHIAN THEMES AND VALUES, which will be held at the Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, 183 Euston Road, London NW1 2BE on Friday April 28, 2017. He will deliver a talk / presentation on the subject ‘Reclaiming Gandhi through arts’.
The conference will be chaired by Mr. Narinder Kapur, Visiting Professor of Neuropsychology, Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology (UCL). Other speakers who will present papers includes Professor Jaideep Prabhu, Dr. Abhay Bang, Professor Orazio Attanasio, Professor Makarand Paranjape, Professor Lord Bhikhu Parekh, Dr. Terry Beitzel, Dr. Vinit Haksar, Dr. John Chelladurai and John Rowley.
Dr. Subodh Kerkar has been engaged with the Gandhian thought for many years and has created installations, sculptures and drawings to propagate the principles of Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, he will present his new venture, where he is creating a virtual island with 50 sculptures of Gandhi from all over the world.
He will also be delivering a talk at the Department of History (UCL) on 'Narrating histories through contemporary art’ on 27th April 2017.
