Rumblers to be installed at Patem-Novebandh accident-prone stretch

For the sake of people’s lives, the PWD officers and the local MLA inspected the road along Patem, Balli till Novebandh, and decided to lay down rumblers and widen the road.  This decision was made as many locals complained about the number of accidents taking place there. That stretch is a part of the national highway.

After inspecting the road, Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias stated: “This particular road stretch is narrow, and has a sharp curve because of which it has become an accident-prone zone for the last four years. This route is mostly used by trucks from Karwar and most drivers misjudge the curve of the road thus leading to accidents.”

“Today, the PWD has taken a decision to install rumblers with signboards by next week at three spots along the road as a first step. Further, a landlord has agreed to give his land which will be used for road widening as a permanent solution,” he added.
