100 more electric vehicle (EV) chargers will be set up by Tata Power in Goa in the coming year. They already have 50 chargers in the State. Their aim is to put up charging stations along every national highway that is connected to Goa.
The CEO of Tata Power, Praveer Sinha, revealed that nine more EV chargers will probably be installed this month itself. Last year, the state government launched the Goa Electric Vehicle (EV) Concessional Charging Infrastructure Policy which displayed that charging stations will be set up at 50 locations identified by the government.
The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) was appointed as the authority to issue permissions for putting up EV chargers on public and private properties. Sinha said that they could be installed at malls, resorts, commercial buildings, railway stations, big parking lots, etc.
All this will help boost the use of green energy in Goa.
