While the waterfalls become an obvious go to option, several other places around the state come alive during the monsoons too. With fewer people visiting, it is also a great time to visit some of the more popular tourist spots. Here are some of the places you should visit on your Goa monsoon getaway.
Mahadev Temple, Tambdi Surla: Nestled in the Bhagwan Mahawir Sanctuary, lies this 12th century temple carved from rock.
Sanquelim Dam: As the rains come in and the dam fi lls up, the area around takes on another persona- with lush greens, birds and a prevalent sense of calm.
Mayem Lake: An otherwise bustling tourist spot, this is the season the crowds drain out and it makes an ideal place for a day picnic.
Arvalem Caves: Ancient rock cut caves, with an added bonus of the Harvalem Waterfall in full flow.
Carambolim Lake: A picturesque lake around Old Goa and a great spot for bird watching.
