Love to shop? There are plans to build a Goa Bazaar Complex in Merces, Goa. The government will be floating a tender soon.
Govind Gaude, Minister for Rural Development, revealed that this project will be completed in 2 years. It has been pending for quite some time.
So what is this bazaar all about? The vision for it is to be a market just for Goan artisans and self-help groups (SHGs). It’ll be the perfect place for Goan craftsmen and artisans to showcase their local handicrafts. This project will be taken up by The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). The Goa Bazaar complex will even have features synonymous with Goan architecture.
The total cost will be approximately Rs 44 crore. The first phase will have expenses of Rs 17 crore approximately.
