A new six-lane highway will come to Porvorim!

Porvorim will be getting an elevated six-lane highway! Its construction will begin soon. To reduce inconveniences to the public during this period, Mauvin Godinho transport minister suggested that a Bailey bridge be set up for traffic to use. This is a temporary but strong bridge.

Rs 2,228 crore was given by the Union government for highway projects. This includes the 4.7km elevated highway in Porvorim. PWD minister Nilesh Cabral revealed that a traffic management plan is being drafted for traffic management. The new bridge will take four to five years to build and some inconveniences can’t be avoided according to Cabral. The ultimate goal of the highway is to reduce traffic congestion in the long run.
