The famous Bondla Zoo of Goa will most probably be getting a tiger soon! The forest department of Goa has been talking to officials in Madhya Pradesh to exchange animals.
They have reached a deal where Goa will exchange a pair of Indian bison (gaurs) for a tiger. Efforts are being made to get two tigers instead of one to obey the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) rules which say each zoo animal should have a mate. The tigers are expected to arrive at Bondla zoo during the next financial year. The previous tigers died of natural causes.
The tiger enclosure is being renovated and many cages of Bondla zoo have been repaired as they weren’t in good condition. Those who visit this place can spot various animals such as crocodiles, sloth bear, deer, leopards, snakes, and more.
