With close proximity to Baga and Calangute beaches, Candolim is very popular for its great shoreline and offers a variety of amusement options. The beach is a must do on the Goan traveler’s list. The long stretch of the Candolim Beach started at Sinquierim and spills over to Calangute right upto the mouth of of Baga river at the end of Baga beach. It is a long tread to the Baga beach, but a good breeze, lots of activities at the beach and colourful beach shacks make up for an interesting walk.
On the other side, the Candolim Calangute road is packed with shops, pubs and restaurants, which are always buzzing with activity. On the beach, activities like water-skiing, parasailing, bump rides, jet-skiing, catamaran sailing, banana rides and wind surfing are quite popular with the visitors. The beach is dotted with shacks serving excellent seafood, international and Indian food. Many yoga, massage and wellness centres have sprung up in the area and are gaining popularity as the visitors love to get pampered and rejuvenated when on a holiday.
Things to do: Go shopping at the many shops and stalls on the Candolim Calangute road for clothing, accessories, handicrafts, trinklets and other knick knacks. The adventure enthusiasts can enjoy watersports provided by the various operators on the beach. Grab some great seafood, international, local and Indian food at the beach shacks dotting the beach. Enjoy a walk in the cool sands at this bustling beach. Visit the Aguada Fort and the Lighthouse situated nearby.
Location: North Goa, 12 kilometers from Mapusa and 14 kilometers from Panjim. The closest railway station is Thivim.
