Cloth bags distributed to Goa markets to reduce plastic waste

To reduce plastic waste in Goa, 15,000 cloth bags were distributed in different markets and to vegetable sellers located near highways. The aim of this is to get buyers and sellers used to not depending on plastic.

The Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) was behind this initiative. They are making another 10,000 cloth bags to be distributed. The words ‘Clean Goa’ is printed on them. Each highway vegetable seller will receive 10-20 cloth bags to raise awareness.

The complete ban of single-use plastics will start from July 1, 2022.
