Cruise tourism in Goa will start by the end of September! The Cordelia Empress, a domestic cruise liner, is likely to arrive by September 30. In October, the first international cruise vessel is expected to arrive according to the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) officials.
This year, the MPA chairman Akkaraju is expecting 21 international cruise liners and 56 port calls. He and other government stakeholders had a meeting to discuss issues related to taxis and buses and other topics. The pandemic made all cruise experiences, domestic and international, come to a complete halt.
The new cruise terminal on 55,000 sqm of land will be completed by September 2023 approximately. It is worth Rs 74.1 crore. Until then, cruise liners will use the current terminals. To ensure that cruise operators and passengers have a trouble-free experience, standard operating procedures for enforcement agencies have been laid down.
Goa usually receives around 51 cruise liners like M S Ocean Odyssey, M S Borealis, M S Nautica, M S Europa, Silver Spirit, Ocean Odyssey, and more.
