Formerly working as a government medico, Dr. Prakash Kurade is one of the few physicians who truly believes in his noble profession of helping heal people. Operating from a small dispensary in Cuncolim market, Dr. Paraksh devotedly treats every person that walks through his doors and spends at least 12 hours doing the same every day.
When today many believe that medicine is no longer a vocation but a lucrative business venture, Dr Kurade strongly believes that service to the sick is service to God. Therefore, he works dedicately towards keeping the people of Cuncolim in good health.
What makes this all the more special? He is 80 years old and obviously reveres the cause he works for. He even continued to treat people during the pandemic with no fear of how it may impact him. Dr. Prakash Kurade is celebrated for the fact that he does not do this for the money. He accepts whatever fee you can afford and if you can’t afford any of it, he will still not turn away. Lucky are we to know the good doctor.
