Education in Goa to include robotics and other courses

A whopping Rs 3,000 crore was allocated for Goa’s education sector. For a ‘CM-Coding and Robotics’ scheme, which helps sharpen logical and mathematical skills and learn about coding and robotics, Rs 25 crore has been set aside. On a related note, government schools will be getting their own computer labs.

To help students even further, they will be able to get coaching to excel at exams like IIT, JEE and NEET. The government will get institutes to provide this training and give out scholarships to eligible students.

“I propose to set up a research cell for urban design and sustainable architecture to record and maintain our heritage, culture and future generations,” Sawant said. The fee structure of technical institutes in the state will be changed to encourage technical education amongst the youth in Goa.

Additionally, to give the Goan youth an advantage to get jobs in the shipbuilding industry, different courses for new skills will be developed such as 4G, 5G, 6G welding, fibreglass work, CNC machine operations, etc.
