The People for Panjim Parks (PPP) and ComePostVille group will be conducting the third edition of the farmer’s market and seed/sapling exchange huddle on April 24 at St Mary’s Colony multisports playground. This event will be in collaboration with the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP). As part of the event, there will be a number of workshops held on topics like tips to take care of succulents by Divya Desai; DIY cocostick in a pot by Subbu Nayak; bioenzymes by Selma Viegas; home composting tips by Allwyn Sequeira; tips on opening a jackfruit and processing tips for local fruits (bimbli, starfruit) by Geeta Signapurkar.
There will be artwork, handmade gift products, handicrafts, pottery items, jute bags and more available. Vermicompost, cow dung products, jeevamrut, liquid fertilisers, manures, bioenzyme, seeds and saplings will also be available. Goan red rice (from Khazan lands), dried bimbli, stuffed mango pickle, bora pickle and a variety of edible products will be made available by farmers, self-help groups, other vendors and participants.
A variety of food and non-alcoholic summer beverages will be available including mangoes, mango products, tissriyo dangar, prawn dangar, fish cutlets, waffles, laddoos, homemade brownies, chocolates, Moira banana Chips, non-alcoholic perfume, sugarcane juice, chaat items and other street food items. Entry is free and open to all. Citizens are requested to bring their own plates, containers, glass, and bags to reduce waste.
