Few Goa beaches to be made accessible for specially-abled travelers

Selected Goa beaches accessible for specially-abled travelers – announced by Tourism Department of Goa. Referring to this, Minister for Tourism Rohan Khaunte added that the government is working toward and making plans to make select beaches in the state for the same. He added that they are working with the belief that beaches are for all, and to make this easy for them, ramps will be provided for disabled/physically challenged people at select beaches. Mr. Khaunte added this while he was replying to the government’s plans for providing infrastructural facilities on the beaches.

Adding to this, the Minister said that mechanical/semi-mechanized cleaning machines will ensure that beaches are clean and regularly. Deployment of road sweeping machines is also taking place to keep the roads clean. Revealing more about the plans, he mentioned installment of surveillance systems, CCTV cameras at entry and parking areas of the beaches. This is to empower law enforcement agencies to assist people and also maintain law and order in these places. Goa beaches accessible for specially-abled will open doors to a positive and accepting outlook by other.

It is likely that this development will change the outlook of people with disabilities towards Goa. Until now, this popular beach was a destination for the young crowd. But, in the near future, Goa will be a destination that is inclusive and favorite of specially abled traveler. Son they will be able to book tickets to visit the state and enjoy their holiday.
