Goa State Museum to get its own place

The Goa State museum didn’t really have its own place for almost 4 yrars. Now it finally has an assurance to get its own place. A building for the state museum will be constructed with central assistance. Chief minister Pramod Sawant  said that Rs. 10 crore has been set aside for this.

To easily access and protect the archived heritage, an Integrated Archival Access and Preservation Project has been planned. This will have storage using software, document management and services for citizens/scholars, and more. Rs 50 crore has been allocated for this in 2021.

Forts at Alorna, Cabo de Rama,  Chapora , Colvale and Corjuem will be restored this year. Other heritage structures will be restored as well such as Jain Basti at Bandora, an archaeology centre at the site of the Mahalasa Temple at Verna, Chapel of Monte at Old Goa, and the access road to the Chapel of St Jerome. Rs.20 crore has been allocated for this work.
