It’s extremely annoying when Goa’s pristine beauty is spoiled because there is garbage everywhere! The Minister for waste management, Atanasio Monserrate, said that the government is determined to make Goa garbage free. He wants to achieve this goal by the year 2027.
He has already warned village panchayats that unsegregated garbage won’t be tolerated by the treatment plant. Monserrate is confident that once the solid waste management plant is operational, Goa’s garbage issue will be dealt with. He will be examining the solid waste management plant at Cacora by next week. The inauguration of the plant will be done by the end of May.
Soon, new tenders will be floated for constructing a similar plant at Bainguinim. Having a plant is much better than dumping garbage in random places which is a health hazard for everyone.
