Goan Girl Wins Silver at Sailing Nationals

Keona clinches Silver while Pearl puts up a valiant fight at YAI Senior National Sailing Championships

Goa Yachting Association’s Keona Rajani clinched silver at the Senior National Sailing Championships in the RS:X Women class and Pearl Colvalcar in Laser Radial Women put up a valiant fight to finish 5th in a category which had Asian Games Medalists fighting for top honours.

Pearl despite being the youngest sailor at the event sailed well considering that all her other competitors were all established senior sailors and have been sailing the circuit for many years. Even against such odds Pearl managed three 4th place and one 3rd place finishes out of 12 races.

Keona meanwhile managed to consistently finish in second place in the first 10 races and took the gun in the last 2 races, but however managed to finish overall in 2nd place.
