Goa’s first charter flight may arrive in October!

The first charter flight of the tourist season may come to Goa after mid-October. Flights from UK, Kazakhstan, and Russia are being expected. During the previous tourist season, when international travel restrictions were taken away, Goa received a few flights from Kazakhstan and Russia but that soon got affected when the Russia-Ukraine war began.

However, this season. Stakeholders are expecting good charter footfalls from the three places. Even though the arrival dates haven’t been finalized, serious intentional conversations are being carried out with the three countries.

TUI Airways will operate from the UK while Russia’s Aeroflot Airlines will bring tourists to Goa. Some flights from Scandinavia are expected as well, but not many charters. Qatar Airways’ services may be used. If everything goes smoothly, Goa’s first charter will land by the third or fourth week of October.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Goa would receive approximately 2.5 lakh charter tourists. With more charter tourists, small hotels in the state will reap the benefits as they got affected during the pandemic even though many domestic tourists came.
