Do you have a big heart and extra food? You can deposit your extra food in a fridge which has been installed in the Calangute police station. The food will then be given to homeless people by food bank volunteers.
This police station is the third one to take up this initiative. The first two are in Quepem and Mapusa. Police stations are always open so the food can be donated at anytime there. This will also save a lot of dishes from getting unnecessarily thrown out.
The food bank is also planning to have even more homes for homeless people. This means that it is vital for them to get more food to feed the poor.
Other than 15 police stations, the food bank fridge will be at two shelter homes, two petrol pumps, and at the food bank’s headquarters which is in Sangolda.
