A space for Goan artisans? Yes please! The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is trying again to build a 3 storey complex at a cost of Rs 22 crore approximately.
There will be an exhibition area, stilt parking, etc, which is over 4,500 sqm. It will be located on the east side of the Rua de Ourem creek, Panaji. It will be an epic place to get local handicrafts by Goan artisans and craftsmen.
This project will help generate entrepreneurship opportunities and revenue.
It’s was first conceptualized as the Shilpgram project. The aim of this project was to help export Goan handicrafts and boost handicraft tourism in Delhi and Jaipur. In the year 2018, the state government wanted an exclusive market just for handicrafts and call it ‘Goa Bazaar’.
