More Electric vehicle charging stations to come up in Goa

Electric vehicles – some may love them, some may hate them. To boost the sale of EVs, the government will be inviting bidders to build 50 charging stations in Goa.

Ten of these will be under the Goa government’s startup programme. The infrastructure for these ten will be according to the green energy building code. All the energy used shall be renewable.

The EV charging stations will be located at malls, cinemas, restaurants, offices, shopping complexes, colleges, hospitals, petrol outlets, housing societies, etc. The government also wants the charging stations to be on private properties with public access.

The amount of tourists that come to Goa is almost 5 times more than the local population of 15 lakh! This leads to a lot more vehicle pollution and carbon dioxide emission, which badly affects the environment. This is why electric vehicles are definitely needed for less noise pollution, better air in Goa, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
