The infrastructure work of the Goa Mopa Greenfield International Airport is 60% complete. The first phase’s deadline is August 15, 2022.
At the moment, the airport taxiways and runways are almost done. The expansion work of the airport terminal building is going on. The airport’s technical building and the Air Traffic Control tower is almost ready as well.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating this second airport on Independence Day 2022.
People have been sent for training for airport rescue, fire fighting, baggage screening, etc, at respected institutes. The airport will be developed in 4 stages. When the 4th stage is complete, it’ll be able to handle more than 30 million passengers a year.
