As Goa is one of the leading holiday destinations nationally and internationally, new standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been issued for hotels, restaurants, and other places for everyone’s safety during the pandemic.
According to the SOPs, hotels must try to avoid procedures having human contact and instead opt for digital payments like e-wallet for check-ins and check-outs, online forms, QR codes, etc. Guests’ luggage should be disinfected before being sent into luggage rooms. Hotels should also take the details of guests’ ID, travel history, medical condition, and self-declaration form at the reception itself. Preferably, there should be separate entries and exits for goods and supplies, guests, and staff.
Also, only those mall establishments, restaurants, and hotels that are away from containment zones are allowed to operate.
Restaurants are asked to screen their staff, make sure that social distancing is maintained inside, encourage takeaways, etc. Wherever possible, disposable menus and paper napkins (instead of cloth napkins) should be used. Restaurant staff should wear masks and gloves always.
