New tribal museum for Goa!

A new tribal-themed museum will be coming up in Ponda, Goa! The project cost will come to Rs 15 crore. There will be 10 museums just like this all over India in the states where tribal actions were taken against the colonial rule.

The purpose of these museums is to honour the sacrifices made by the brave tribal freedom fighters. Their traditional heritage will be showcased across the country. The other states which will have these museums are Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Jharkhand, Telangana, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Manipur.

The Goa tribal museum will display the efforts made by the tribal fighters during the freedom struggle in the state. These museums will also preserve and promote the music, art skills, songs, handicraft and crafts passed down for generations. It will help boost tourism and is an excellent way for youth to learn about India’s tribal history.
