No entry checks for tourists in Goa yet

For tourists coming to Goa, there will be no testing curbs at the borders. Pramod Sawant, the chief minister, announced that people must follow Covid safety protocols at public places.

“I had a discussion with health minister Vishwajit Rane,” Sawant revealed. “At least for now, we will not impose janata curfew nor will we have any ban, but will increase testing in a big way. No decision has been taken yet to have checks at border posts, but hotels must do thermal checking of their guests.”

Hotels are asked to guide their guests to a Covid-testing centre if they display any symptoms. “This has also been seen at meetings, where people neither wear masks nor use sanitizers. People have to compulsorily wear masks when in public,” urged the Chief minister.

The Prime minister had suggested that Goa and other states can have ‘mini-containment zones’, if necessary. Testing will be increased in Goa. People who have tested positive can get home isolation kits from the DHS.
