Noise Pollution Complaints From North Goa To Be Looked Into

Noise pollution is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly because it has adverse effects on people and animals as well. The deputy collector, Kapil Phadte, was approached by some people living in Assagao, Calangute, and Anjuna regarding this matter. He agreed to look into it.

The residents shared their complaints about night-time noise pollution and expressed their plea to deal with high decibel music. They felt that the police department has not been very thorough in curbing the loud noises. Phadte was requested to keep the music under control. The people informed that this disturbance was taking place during the late-night hours daily.

“We also suggested that sound level meters be fixed to check sound levels,” Desmond Alvares, resident revealed. The deputy collector’s response was: “We will try and resolve the problems of the people as several complaints were received by the locals.”
