Olive Ridely turtle with missing limb comes and…

A turtle’s perseverance… #TrueStory. An Olive Ridely turtle that had one missing limb came to Vagator beach to lay its eggs but was bothered by dogs. Later on in the evening, an identical turtle was seen on Morjim beach. It made a nest and laid its eggs.

It can’t be said for sure whether the turtle seen in Vagator and Morjim was the same one. They both had a missing right hind leg. If it was the same turtle, then after being disturbed by dogs and people on Vagator beach, it crossed the Chapora river mouth and swam to Morjim beach which is on the north side of Vagator.

This sweet creature laid 110 eggs in Morjim. They get disturbed by bright lights, the presence of humans, and noise.
