Ah Goa! The very thought of the state sways your imagination to a mesmerising place with scintillating sands and sparkling waters of the sea, doesn’t it? But one thing that hides behind the natural beauty and touristic avenues that Goa is most known for is the eclectic fusion of Indo-Portuguese and Goan architecture.

The architecture upon which the Goan heritage was once built, however, has been diminishing with the rise of contemporary styles of construction, non-ecological renovations, high-rise apartments and reconstruction of Old Portuguese bungalows. But there is this one man who not only admires the colonial architecture and gets inspired by it but also works upon restoring the look and feel of Old Portuguese villas.

Lokesh Sood, a firm believer of restoration of Goan heritage and an avid player in the real estate sector, moved to Goa in 2002 and established a real estate venture by his name. Possessing a strong portfolio and having built some of the finest properties in Goa, Sood started off with refurbishing old dilapidated Portuguese villas sustaining the exact architectural elements that the houses were built upon. With sharp emphasis on conserving the colonial built of the houses, Sood marvelled his buyers with avant-garde interiors and amenities that his creations were equipped with.

The patronage that he then received was pure evidence of his exceptional service, remarkable quality standards, and intricate finesse. No wonder that he operates without a business card or a website since his down-to-earth marketing strategies are based on word-of-mouth promotions among an exclusive and niche segment of buyers not only from India but even overseas. Having practiced his passion for restoring the old colonial structures, Lokesh soon graduated to constructing his own Luxe homes and villas.

Considering that the stateof- the-art design and post-modern facilities he bestows his buyers with in his villa projects are inspired by the purest forms of luxury living, Lokesh’s Luxe Villas possess an opulent charm with not-so-over-the-top structural elements. Designed by acclaimed Architects, his properties won’t fail to enthral you one bit. His proficiency can be boldly observed at two of his current projects in Assagao, one of them being ‘OHANA’. Let’s hear it from the man himself: “In Hawaiian culture, the word OHANA means extended family and friends.

In the context of this project, it signifies a select group of discerning individuals who choose to belong to a community which is bound together by similar tastes and aesthetic values.” stated Lokesh in conversation with our editorial team. OHANA, a complex of six luxe villas built over 4000 square feet, is a premium investment option with each villa equipped with its independent pool and garden space. Lokesh has also conceptualized another dwelling in Assagao which he classifies as Super Luxe Villa Homes. Designed by international architects, the property has been exclusively landscaped by a landscaping specialist from Singapore. The property is so premium that all those five super luxe villas are available only on invite basis.
