As a woman in Goa, did you ever wish there was transport run by women? Well, your wish is coming true! The ‘pink rickshaw’ project will be launched soon. It’s similar to Goa’s pink police force.
The chief minister said that in some time pink rickshaws with women drivers will be moving around in the state. For now, 17 women have been trained. Any woman who wants to be independent and self-employed can take up this rickshaw business. The state government will give loans under Chief Minister’s Rozgar Yojana (CMRY) and sponsorship will be provided by the Rotary Club.
On a related note, Goa’s pink police force was started to stop crimes against women and children. The pink force operates at 11 police stations and covers the others as well.
