Russia to Goa flights (Aeroflot airline) will be operating 3 flights a week from 2nd November onwards. Another Russian airline, Aruz, will also be getting charter tourists to Goa. The approval for the landing of these two airlines has already been obtained.
Since the Russian president hasn’t enforced a travel ban, tourism will not get badly affected. Before, the pandemic, Goa would get one or two charters a day during the tourist season. The footfalls now aren’t as high but it’s still progress. The charters will be smaller with a capacity of 300 passengers instead of 500. As of now, the situation with UK charters is uncertain because of the e-visa issue. Later in October, flights from Kazakhstan are expected to arrive in the State.
At the end of 2021, charters were coming in but were put to a stop when the Russia-Ukraine war started. Charter tourists are needed for the benefit of small hotels as domestic tourists don’t use them.
