Guess what’s going to happen before the famous International Film Festival of India begins? Goa’s very first solar/ electric ferry boat will be operational in Panaji city before the festival begins! It will travel from the Panaji jetty to Chorao Island and back.
The floating jetty in Chorao is almost ready and will be completely in approximately 2 weeks. With input from villagers, the ferry fee will be determined and finalized. Passengers can get off the ferry boat by using the upgraded jetty on the Panaji side.
This special ferry can hold 100 passengers. 60 can be seated and 40 can stand. Vehicles won’t be allowed, only people. For the first 15 days, the ferry service will be free and after that tickets will have to be purchased. It will be around four times more expensive than the normal ferries.
The International Film Festival of India will begin on November 20.
