The famous Parra church road of Goa that was shown in the ‘Dear Zindagi’ film will soon be getting a twin! A new look has been planned for the Chogm road from Saligao towards St Alex Church, Calangute. It will have coconut trees on both sides just like the well-known Parra road.
The trees will be planted just before the monsoons to ensure their growth. The trees that will be placed there will be partially grown with a height of 10 feet. The road was only 5.5m wide and widening was necessary for better traffic flow.
Other road improvements faced delays because underground cables had to be installed and a bridge and cross-drains had to be constructed. Locals are not happy about the decision to demolish the Dolphin Circle. However, panchayat members said that is necessary for road widening. The new circle will have a pretty landscaped garden.
