The government will be opting for electric vehicles

The government of Goa has taken another step to reduce pollution in the state. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant revealed that they are replacing all their petrol and diesel-consuming vehicles with electric ones. “The government has already started using electric vehicles in its various departments,” he said.

Recently at the state assembly complex, Sawant had inaugurated Goa’s very first public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station. This is a part of the Green Goa Initiative. Electric vehicles reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and doesn’t waste fossil fuels.

The chief minister also revealed that in the upcoming years, Goa will be known as an education hub. He mentioned this at the inauguration of the extension building of Dr K B Hedgewar Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, at Cujira.
