The not-so-famous hidden gem in Goa – Corjuem Fort – will be getting an amphitheatre! Cultural events and festivals will be held here. The fort will be in the background of the shows and plinths shall be used to make seating arrangements.
Parts of the fort became weak because of plant growth. The correct temperature is needed to clean the vegetation because everything has to dry up properly. Stones that got affected will be dismantled and rearranged.
For tourists to enjoy the fort’s structure as a whole and take in the external views as well, the archaeology department is making a pathway that will go around the fort. The bastion and other characteristics look better from the outside.
The Corjuem fort was built in the year 1550 and officially became a protected monument under the Goa, Daman and Diu Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1978, 1 of 1979 and its rules 1980.
