The Temperature Drop In Goa Will Be Temporary

After the not so wintry month of January 2021 – the warmest January from the past three decades- the temperature dropped to 20 degrees Celsius during the first week of February which was quite pleasant for those in Goa. During these days, when it’s nightfall, the temperature drops. However, this probably won’t last long.

Before the summer season starts in March, February’s second fortnight may already become warmer. “By then, there is a possibility of a weak system forming over the east central Arabian sea, resulting in rise in minimum temperature,” Rahul M, scientist at IMD, Panaji, said.

As of now, the temperature has taken a slight plunge from the average 20 degrees Celsius temperature. The minimum temperature over the last few days is 19 degrees Celsius. The cold is stronger in the hinterland areas.
