To prevent the rise in cases in Goa, health minister Vishwajit Rane has requested people to wear facemasks and follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour as the government can’t bring curbs as it could damage economic activity. Rane said that people should wear masks in public places.
The active cases have crossed 200 so people have to take precautions to stay safe. Those who have body ache or flu symptoms should get tested. For the past 4 days, Goa’s Covid positivity rate has been above 5%. This is definitely a rise. If it turns into a huge wave and the dominant variant is Omnicron then the death rate will be under control.
Masks aren’t made compulsory, but it is a social responsibility to wear them.
