Work at a beach in Goa!

What could be better than working on a beach?  Now you’ll be able to actually do this in Goa! The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has approved the construction of co-working spaces on the beaches of Ashvem, Morjim, Miramar and Benaulim.

The pandemic led to many people wanting a ‘workation’ – this means working but it feels like a vacation! In Morjim, there will be a co-working space cum turtle nesting interpretation centre as it is near the Olive Ridley turtle’s nests. Tourists keep hoping to witness the turtle nesting but it only takes place at night. So, the interpretation centre can solve this issue. Care will be taken while building in Morjim to ensure that there is no environmental damage. It will be built on stilts.

In Miramar, the co-working space will be near the Manohar Parrikar Samadhi complex. The IT department has been requested to make sure that nothing damages the beach eco-system and its vegetation.

The Ashvem co-working space is currently a parking area for vehicles and fisherman boats while the Benaulim space will be in front of the Tourism Information Facilitation Centre which already has facilities like toilets, parking, etc.
